Oscar's Biscuit

Another quickie sketch (well quick for me - 8 hrs) done for one of the weekly challenges set over at the Imaginefx website.

The theme was 'Trapped' an while everyone else quite ensibly treated the subject with respect  by doing fairly serious pieces, my berkiness took over and I had to do a silly one again.  A kind of Mrs Robinson in the 'Graduate' moment.
I was thinking of a caption like

'Oscar realised too late that Yvonne was a custard creme addict.'

No reference used what so ever.
Nowhere near as finished as I'd like, having loads of things wrong with it.  It'll probably remain in this state unless I can steal the time from somewhere to polish it off in my up tight way.

PainterX - Mostly the artists oils, with a couple of tinting brush layers and a red cast laid over after (bucket fill layer set to multuply)

One of the things that I find most amazing about your work is your ability to capture expression, yes of course, but you have also managed to capture volume, weight, and so much life! It was a real learning experience for me to see this WIP too. Excellent work:)

Thanks Anna, You're very kind. I've been watching your recent pieces in the challenges with great interest. There's a vision and willingness to take on difficult compositions that is refreshing to see. Good for you.

Nick, this image made me smile-you are such a good artist. I like the angle of the specs, the biscuit, blue cocktail, look of horror on his face, placement of arms and legs. I'll be watching your gallery additions! Rated 5!

Thanks ever so for all the lovely comments guys. Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. My system went belly up with a fault and I've only just finished setting up a temporary, inferior one to cover the gap. Aaaah technology. Love it when it's working - gosh you feel the draft when it isn't. Been missing Painter big time.

I've been trying to comment, but it's almost too wonderful for words. I wish it were printed on a huge canvas and hanging on my wall. Awesome.

Nickillus says:

Thanks Bonnie - thanks Cat. Not sure I'd want that woman looming large over me even on a wall, Cat. Everyone's different though - ain't it great?
