YUMAN says:

George, you’ve gotta stop doing these self portraits! Seriously, I think this is one of your top pieces so far. To get the hair and beard what size brush? I have a hard time getting this resolution and the taper at the end of the stroke.

Posted 82 months ago

GeorgeB says:

Yuman-First thanks for the wonderful comments. The hair can be do with any board oil brush. I use living Oil>Smeary Brush @100%. this is the key. Once done I use Mar Hair Detail to refine the hair. I got Marilyn's Brush Sampler #2 brushes from a special. Marilyn's something!! If I find it I will forward it to you.

Washed says:

George, how do you get all these brushes????? My Corel 11 doesn't have them

sarnoart says:

George, I won't go into the technical wizardry or all that's so fantastic about this piece, the painting speaks for itself better than any words can. The set of the mouth, the liquidity of the eyes, he looks like someone we've all seen or knew at one time. It's another of your pieces worthy to be called Fine Art. 5

Kim-If you remember when the Painter site was strong and up and running, often different site would offer brushes made by other painters. Jitterbug.com was a very good one for me. Most of the brushes I am using came through Jitterbug. I hope this helps.
