RT says:
Think this is probably one of your best Marcelo. It is so beautiful worth much more than a 5.

Absolutely wonderful. Great idea with the coconut texture. The impasto brush strokes give it a very painterly feel.

Grandison says:
Great man! You continue to surprise me. Love the texture work. I would redo that left eye though because it is not following the curvature of the face but goes straight out to the side. Take a closer look at it again.

Thanks all for your kind comments and observations! I really like to hear from you.
Grandison, in fact, after so many brushstrokes, is there a great possibility of things running out of their original place or even being distorted.
After finishing it, I realized something weird with her right eye (left for the observer). I thought it was a little bigger but, maybe you are right, the eye line is not going around the face as expected. I was really tired for correcting this. And, the most difficul part, after correcting, is to give the same treatment, textures, color to the edited portion. Iīll got some inspiration and patience and try to correct it, because I really liked the print I did it on photographic paper.

Grandison says:
Yeah, I can see the difficulty now, Marcelo. It may help to lock your layers in place, both PS and Painter do it, label everything, obviously, but keep them to a minimal else things will start getting away from you. Lastly, only flatten and format what you're going to submit. Works for me anyway because in hindsight I'm always thinking I should do this to it or that. Don't get me wrong, Marcelo, I'm loving you're work and that of most of the artists here. As a matter of fact, I applaud you all for using so many different mediums i.e. pastels, oils, acrylics, etc. I have used those traditionally in the past but I've never been gusty enough to try them
digitally. I mainly use the markers and, oddly enough, traditionally I can't stand them. What gives, right? :) One thing I find very consistent about your work before I go. Your sense of color and direction of the brush strokes are very admirable! Ciao! Now get back to painting, all of yuz! :)

PIerre says:
Marcello, a good portrait in this loose brush stroke method. I've read and understand Grandison's comment. He has a good point. On the other hand, you did not try to be photorealistic here. The nose makes a deep concave curvature at the bridge and I find that my eye reads it without finding the straightish line bothersome.

Excellent Marcelo. I liked the uncropped version on your web site. The coconut texture is uniquie. This is definately a fantastic portrait and a great heirloom piece for your niece.

PIerre says:
Marcello, I looked at the original and stick to my opinion - you weren't going for photorealistic; it is a matter of choice how you treat certain details. If you are unhappy, then by all means amend until satisfied.

Thanks all for comments and suggestion, again! Patrick, indeed, although in my first works it was a tendency of being photorealistic, today this really bothers me! Letīs say, if I begin a work from scratch, being photorealistic would be a merit, but, this is not the case when a photograph is my base. I this case, the merit is to produce something artistic, to imprint my own symbols through my brushstrokes and according to my interior style (bad or good). This will be an eternal searching.
