Bio: |
I studied art at Malaspina College (Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada), in the mid 1970’s, majoring in ceramic sculpture and printmaking. Following this, I apprenticed with the ceramic artist, Simon Henson, in Victoria (British Colombia, Canada), for a year. Furthering my studies, I attended the Kootenay School of Art, completing a diploma programme in graphic design, being hired, afterward, by a western Canadian department store chain (Woodward’s),in Vancouver, Canada, as part of their display design team. I continued working for Woodward’s for thirteen years, then, devoted the next few years as a full-time, self-employed artist. In my home-based ceramic studio, I created both giftware and sculptural pieces, selling privately, as well as in galleries and gift shops in British Colombia’s Lower Mainland. I returned to work in the field of visual presentation with a major Canadian department store chain (“The Bay), which I have been doing for the last number of years. During this time, an “old flame” rekindled—photography. Combining the media of photography and digital art resonated strongly with my interest in visual imagery, as well as my fascination with computer technology. This has allowed me to enter an intriguing world of unlimited possibilities. |
